Time We Switched to a ONE PARTY SYSTEM…..ANYTHING BUT WHAT WE Have Now!

Before I begin let me say I am a “political unic.”  I have no particular tie to either one of our politica parties.  Let me begin by saying it’s time we took a real close look at our stagnated political system.  The two party system just isn’t working, my Fellow Americans!  This latest fiasco with the debt limit proves that those yahoos we send to Washington are totally unaware of what WE need.  This latest stock market drop cannot be blamed on the European and Asian Markets, like so many of the so-called experts are saying. The Republicans and Democrats do battle just to win, not knowing what they’re winning or losing or how it is affecting the country as a whole.  They just want to beat the other party, no matter the prize…We all know the Republicans want Obama gone..adios…out of the picture.  So, when it comes time to vote on anything that has “teeth” it meets a timely death.  This debt limit fiasco was the coup de grace.  Both sides of the aisle “stunk up the building” with their undying loyalty to the party rather than the people.  We need something new.  If I had the answers I wouldn’t be sitting here in San Diego trying to make a buck I’d be in D.C. pushing the buttons.  I do know one thing for sure—-the system, as we once knew it, ain’t working anymore…Somebody, somebody somewhere come up with a new idea….a new plan…..a new way to bring America back to the prominence and reputation and accreditation it once had.  If you have any better ideas let me hear from you!

  1. Good morning Rod. Let me be the first “viewer” to congratulate you on your new website. It is stunningly beautiful, quite unlike your face. I’m going to make it part of my daily web routine. After all someone has to keep an eye on you and let you know how your doing. Knock ‘em dead, brother. You’ve got another winner on your hands.

    • why thank you, mr. hauff……didn’t i know you back in the old days? weren’t you the one who invented the rubics cube, but lost the plans in a bar in milwaukee and some dude picked it up and the rest is hostory? keep trying, my friend…..i”m still trying to sell my idea “muschup.” mustard and ketchup in the same jar….

    • Rod,

Glad to see you and sure do miss you in the mornings…on TV that is.

If I may, A note about all the San Diego Sheriff Reserve Deputies, Search and Rescue (SAR), Senior Volunteers, and Explorers who everyday support the county of San Diego by giving their time.

Very few people know that the county is spared Hundreds of Thousands of dollars in these difficult economic times by these Reserve and Volunteer Men, Women, and Teens, who wear the uniform of the San Diego County Sheriff.

They are on patrol on the streets of San Diego County providing Law Enforcement, these highly trained individuals continue the traditon of “Keeping the peace since 1850″

They are the ones that are called upon to go into the dark of night to Search and Rescue someone who is lost and do so even if they must be at their regular jobs when the sun comes up.

They are the Senior Volunteer who are a extra trained set of eyes that are on the streets day and night assisting the Sheriff Department when called upon.

They are our Law Enforcement of the future out on Patrol as a Explorer with a regular Deputy learning about what law enforcement is all about.

They are also Divers who Search and Recover, Helo Pilots, SWAT, Off Road Enforcement Team, Bike Patrol, and many other support areas.

They do this because they are trained and have heard the call to duty to help their fellow man. If you asked any of them, they will also tell you, that they do it because frankly it’s satisfying to help people who need them, and yes it Fun too.

Finally, The Reserves are always looking for great people to join them to support the Sheriff Department and the people of the county of San Diego, maybe someone out there will see this and say, “I want to help and make a difference.”

Rod, Thank you for allowing me to let people know something that is very positive in these difficult times, and for all you have done for our San Diego. I wish you the very best.

      -Dave

      • Thanks for your info. and kind words, Dave…I remember the many times, over the years, that I spent mornings with Your people and the RSVP….There is no greater a deed one can do for his or her community than to volunteer time, especially when it deals with direct contact with the community…If i am ever in a position to help, again, I will….I am disgusted with the way other media seem to ignore your work……My hat is off to you and your people (men & women)……Say hi to all!!!

  2. Rod… it’s so great to see you up and running w/a new direction in your life! Once again in the spotlight, but as always, with the interests of others ahead of your own!!! I look forward to what this site will offer me with relation to what’s skakin’ in our town, what it will offer San Diego, and most importantly, all your efforts to bring the little guy to the big light in the second greatest city of our nation. Second only to the beer capitol of the world, Milwaukee, WI.

I’m proud of you and your moving forward with your life in a happy and healthy direction. However, I miss hanging out with you! I also miss your mug on KUSI… it hasn’t been the same without you. I actually have chosen to tune in to another morning show to keep me abreast of the latest and greatest in SD in the morning.

    Knock ‘em dead Rod!

    • Thanks for your comments mr. slezak….i just love you milwaukee people….i am enjoying life as a “part time hermit…” maybe someday soon we should meet and have lunch….you have to buy, of course……you make the big bucks….i am just a peasant of the people trying to make his life worth something “one day at a time…”

    • Thanks, Tom….It’s people like you who make me want to continue to help in the community. Keep the faith and tell your friends about the site…..

WHY WE PAY THE CRV ? AND TOLD “” SORRY NO REFUND “

  4. Great having you back in the public eye Rod! I like your videos and bio, but you forgot to mention your little experiment with professional wrestling (AWA) while you were in Milwaukee!

  7. I am happy for you Rod!!!! Keep up the good work and I will share the website with my friends!!!!

  8. Rod, It is so good to finally see you out and about…as it were. I miss watching you, seeing you highlight all the important people in San Diego (Fr Joe, VVSD, art museums, etc) and only wish we could have had you do a highlight on my group. You would have done us right! (although the other guys didn’t do too poorly, It’s just good to have that “Stamp of Approval” from Rod Luck. I’ll certainly pass the word on your site…and visit it often.

    • Hey, Patricia…you are so kind…and, accurate…lol….I miss helping people…that is one reason why I have the website…Let me know if I can be of help for you or any friends…..keep the faith…one day at a time!

  9. Thanks, Dawn, for your kind words….spread the “word” to all….and, keep the faith….one day at a time!

  10. Found you on Facebook, and I’m glad you put a link that points us here. You are a sight for sore eyes. Your reports about various areas around San Diego are missed. TV’s loss is the internets gain. I do miss your reports from the places that do research for cancer, etc.

    • Thanks for the kind words….I really miss making people laugh and enjoy life!!! I am NOW enjoying my life, again, and wish I was back on TV to help the “little guys and gals” and bring some smiles to weary faces!!! rod

    • Thanks, Deb, for the nice comments…I really, really miss informing and entertaining all the people…Your kind words mean a lot to me…..Rod…

    • Hi, Deb. Let me first, apologize to you for not getting back to you right away. Some of my emails “fell through the cracks” and I am sooo sorry. Thanks for your kind and wonderful words. I really miss helping all those who other media types ignore. Sidney Kimmel Cancer Research Center was one of my favorite spots… I also miss informing and entertraing all the people. Maybe one day I will be back……GOOD LUCK to you!!! Rod.

  11. Rod I sure do miss you on the morning show, Mornings are just not the same. I’m amazed how many TV folks have moved around lately and now with KSWB, XETV, and KUSI all competing for the same folks I’d think they could use you. I remembeer an evening in La Jolla my wife and saw you going into a restraunt and you didn’t look so good that night, I just wanted to run up and take you out for coffee. Well, you look great now, sound like the old Rod we all come to love. I wish you all the best and I have a friend who owns a restraunt in La Mesa and I’m going to suggest he consider doing a commerical with you. Rod you’re awesome, you did always fight for the little guy and remember what Jesus said “Those with out sin cast the first stone” We’ve all been there at one time or another. Keep up the great work!

    • Thanks for the nice comments…I miss being there every day!!! I especially miss “putting smiles” on faces like yours….. I am on a solid path and enjoying life…..rod

    • John….Please let me apologize for not answering you, sooner….I had some computer problems, from time to time, and your email fell through the cracks! Thanks for the kind, kind words. I am on a very strong path. I really miss entertaining and informing San Diegans…..My “social life” now consists of some great moments with “new friends” and a life overseen by my “God.”

  12. rod,

i happened on your web site today. i have oftened wondered what became of you? I hope you are well and will soon be back on a morning show to help many of us kick off our day with a laugh and a smile. you were the reason i tuned into kusi…it has not been the same since. frankly, i was a bit angry at the way kusi swept you under the carpet and did so little to support you and all of the good you have done for the channel and the community. sadly most people only remember the plain crashes…not all the great three point landings that proceeded.

since your departure, kusi has lost me…i do look forward to your eventual return.

    pcb

    • Hey, Peter, thanks for your very nice note. I have to apologize for not answering sooner. Your email slipped through the cracks….I am doing great. I am on a strong path and anxious to get back on TV. I miss entertaining and informing people. The laughs were great! The people even greater. I have been doing commercials (radio & tv) for Pacific Nissan. Ever need a car or truck—-check them out—Ron Houston (G.M.) has been close to me since “my crash..” Sooo many abandoned me. But, I am strong and happy and “chomping at the bit” to get the “circus on the road” again! lol…..Rod.

  13. Saw you on TV again, this time for Nissan. How about updating your website and let us know what you’ve been up to. Sounds like you may have made some changes but would like to hear it from you. We are curious.

    • Hi, Phil…Sorry it took so long to reply. Your email slipped through the cracks. Yes, I am doing the commercials for Pacific Nissan. Soooooo nice to get back on TV again. I really miss being there (tv) informing and entertaining people….I am on a strong path. I needed to get some things “corrected” in my life. Good Luck to you! Rod.

  14. Rod, I just wanted to wish you the best. I know that recovery from addiction is a on going and hard thing. As someone who is also on that path, I wish you the vert best.

  15. Rod,

Whatever happened with your assult case?

    • It was downgraded to a misdemeanor. I made a mistake. I have spent the past two years on a very good path. Life is good. I miss the TV and informing and entertaining the public. Thanks for asking.

  16. Hi Rod

You look SO healthy and happy! Whatever you are doing for yourself, keep doing it. It’s working!

  17. Thanks for the kind words…You are so nice…I am happy with my life…I have finally spent time on “me.” I was always wanting and trying to help others. Now, my life is “one day at a time…”

  18. Money that is spent on things that the internet can do is well worth it. The internet is NOT the all mighty godlike savior to our future. We as a society need to get back to our roots and pick up a book. I would hate to believe that in the future books were obsolete and we were all on some electronic device that actually tells us instead of the simple interaction and physical touch of a book.

    • mr. kaliel…I have read, with great humor and wonder, your diatribes before. to be honest with you I partly concur, and also believe that you have been living in a vacuum or, more exactly, a coma……I feel if I continue to correspond with you I might be led to total insanity or even suicide….do me a favor and call Rush Limbaugh and try and sell your capitalistic, unrealistic garbage to him—-I, honeltly, don’t buy it……have a good night!
