Do we really need a new downtown Library?

We couldn’t be in a worse time in our modern history, locally and nationally, with the economic downturn not sure if it wants to “level off” anytime soon.  While we should be watching our spending—we seem to invent ways to spend more money.  The latest fiasco is the construction of the once needed downtown library.  We don’t need the facility.  The internet has changed our lives.  Book stores are losing business, newspapers are going out of business, and the TV industry is threatened because all the info we would ever want to have is on our laptop or home PC…Rise up, let your voices be heard–don’t let the bureacrats add more dirt atop our unwanted financial graves….Let me hear from you!!!

I know very little about the new Library, but I heard it is to cost $80 million for a 10 story building

Guess city of SD is pretty good at spending the Citizens cash.
